If you're sticking inside a lot as October draws in, then there are loads of great new movies to settle down with on streaming. From a new Netflix crime thriller featuring a star-studded cast including Gillian Anderson and Ben Affleck, from a new documentary focusing on one of the biggest Britpop bands, there's plenty on offer Digital Spy has rounded up five of the best to add to your watchlists across the likes of Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO Max over the coming weeks. Netflix Animals Gillian Anderson is among the big stars in this new Netflix crime film directed by and also starring Ben Affleck, the movie centering on a Los Angeles mayoral candidate who lives every parent's worst nightmare when his and his wife's son is kidnapped. Drawn "into a web of deception", the couple "scramble to raise the ransom payment" and are "forced to make choices – and reveal secrets – that could tear their world apart". Kerry Washington and Steven Yeun also feature. Streaming on Netflix from 9 October. Harriet T K Bols Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger Whether you caught the Gallagher brothers' reunion last summer or missed out, this new documentary is a must-watch for Oasis fans and beyond. Written by Peaky Blinders ' Steven Knight, Don't Look Back in Anger hits Disney+ off the back of a recent cinema run, and charts the band's unlikely comeback, following their tour with backstage and rehearsal footage, as well as an interview with the siblings. Streaming on Disney+ from 9 October. Prime Video Love of Your Life This new romantic drama focuses on a young woman called Maya who falls in love, before her marriage tragically falls apart during the pandemic. Severing all her connections, she flees to Portugal, where she meets Felix and regains her capacity for intimacy – though ghosts from Maya's past still lurk. Director Rachel Morrison's movie features a star-studded cast, including Margaret Qualley, Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Basso and Catherine Keener. Streaming on Prime Video from 14 October. Prime Video Masterplan If heist thrillers and Stanley Tucci are your thing, then this new Prime Video film will scratch that itch. The story follows a legendary thief who hires two young recruits to help steal the Mona Lisa... before it is revealed they are siblings, and he is their dad! Together, they are thrown into "a chaotic reunion they never asked for" as the new family "must learn to work together – and try not to kill each other – if they want any chance at pulling off the heist of the century". Streaming on Prime Video from 16 October. A24 Backrooms One of the big movie phenomenon's of the year, director Kane Parsons's psychological horror finally hits streaming this month. Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, Backrooms is based on Parsons's own web series and focuses on a furniture store owner and his therapist who discover a series of eerie liminal spaces by way of his shop's basement.
