“R.L. Stine’s Afraid of Clowns” is heading to Tubi in 2027, a new original horror movie from the “Goosebumps” author built around a traveling clown troupe and a kid who vanished years ago. The logline sets it in a town called Redhaven. When Ringmaster Rollo and his clowns roll in, Frankie figures out their arrival may be tied to a child who disappeared long ago. She becomes convinced they’ve set their sights on her little brother, and has to get her friends to help her stop them before he’s gone for good. The cast includes Frankie Honey, Ava Ferrer, Azriel Dalman, Joe Moore and Jimbo, the “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 8 champion. It’s Stine’s third project with Tubi after “R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead,” which hit the streamer in October 2025, and the sequel “Pumpkinhead 2,” out Oct. 9. Jem Garrard, who wrote and directed both “Pumpkinhead” movies, is back as writer-director. “Clowns have been scaring kids long before I ever got to them,” Stine said. “I just gave them a reason to be afraid of the ones in Redhaven.”
