Thrash titans Anthrax have finally announced their long-gestating 12th studio album, ‘Cursum Perficio’. Released on Friday 18th September 2026 via Nuclear Blast, ‘Cursum Perficio’ arrives 10 years and 7 months after Anthrax’s last album ‘For All Kings’, the longest gap between two albums in Anthrax’s storied career. ‘Cursum Perficio’, which loosely translates to ‘I will persevere / I will finish my journey’ from Latin, was produced by Jay Ruston, who also helmed 2016’s ‘For All Kings’ and 2011’s ‘Worship Music’ albums. Mixing sessions and some recording sessions for ‘Cursum Perficio’ took place at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California. The first single from Anthrax’s new album is called ‘It’s for the Kids’, and it will premiere this Friday (15th May) alongside a music video filmed last December. Although Anthrax are yet to confirm the track-listing, it’s reported that ‘Cursum Perficio’ boasts 11 songs including ‘Persistence Of Memory’, ‘The Long Goodbye’, ‘Everybody's Got A Plan’, ‘The Edge Of Perfection’, ‘Infectious’, ‘NYC 93’, ‘T.O.M.B.’, ‘Watch It Go’, ‘My Victory’ and the album title track. In an interview with Long & McQuade's Dan Coniglio back in February, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello said of the album: "I'm very proud. It's so heavy. Some parts are really hard to play, really hard to play, which I'm happy to say, because I like the challenge of it all. Joey's (Belladonna) vocals, I don't understand how the guy could sing like that, but he still is killing it. And I'm very psyched." He added: "If you like the last two records we've come out with and the past stuff, I think everybody's gonna be happy, because as fans, we're very stoked. And it's been a while, guys, so thank you for waiting. It's been 10 years. So we made sure it's worthwhile." Anthrax play an extensive run of European shows throughout the summer before headlining home to North America in September for festival performances and special guest slots with Iron Maiden.
