Aprilia India has launched the new Tuono 457 Special Edition. The model has been priced at Rs 3.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The special edition brings a host of cosmetic and ergonomic updates while retaining the same twin-cylinder engine and performance package as the standard motorcycle. Bookings for the Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition are now open at select dealerships across India. Here’s a quick look at the details you need to know. Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition: Key details One of the biggest highlights of the new Tuono 457 Special Edition is the introduction of two new colour schemes, Mamba Black and Puma Grey. Both liveries draw inspiration from the 2006 Aprilia Tuono 1000R and feature updated graphics and revised branding elements. Apart from the new paint schemes, the motorcycle now comes with a smoked flyscreen positioned above the headlamp. The rider ergonomics have also been revised. The Tuono 457 Special Edition gets a taller handlebar that results in a more upright riding posture. This setup should ease out city commutes as well as longer rides. The motorcycle also receives a redesigned seat with high-resilience foam that is intended to provide better support and reduce vibrations reaching the rider. Aprilia has further fine-tuned the suspension setup for Indian road conditions. The suspension now features a softer initial stroke to better absorb potholes and road imperfections, while the compression damping has been recalibrated. Another practical addition is an adjustable front brake lever, which was previously available as an accessory. Riders can now customize the lever reach based on their hand size and comfort preferences. Mechanically, the Tuono 457 Special Edition remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the same 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and benefits from Aprilia's ride-by-wire throttle system and multi-level traction control.
