Bloc Party Announce New Album ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’

Bloc Party will release new album ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’ on September 11th. The incoming album is the band’s seventh to date, and it finds frontman Kele Okereke about relationship break-ups, lust, and a new sense of commitment. Out on September 11th , ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’ is the first album on the newly-formed record label cOnTAGIOUS LTD (via Virgin Music Group ), and it will be released across standard and limited edition vinyl, CD and digital formats. Produced by legendary producer Trevor Horn, the songwriting comes from the heart. Kele Okereke comments: “Every lyric you’re hearing on this record was something that actually happened to me. I had to tell the story, from start to finish.” The lyrics are replete with reference to bodies – people he misses, people he has just fallen for, via gym sessions, fleeting glances, and passionate dates. In a note, Kele admits he is “less prudish about sex and connection and intimacy” than he once was, adding: “I have no qualms talking about it, because that connection is important.” Take new single ‘Coming On Strong’ – lithe and muscular, it leans in on the continuing energies of the Bloc Party live experience.
