As the Telugu version of "Vaazha 2" comes out in theatres today (April 14, 2026), all eyes are now on the Malayalam coming-of-age sequel to bring in more earnings that could take it close to and beyond the lifetime gross of Mohanlal's "Thudarum" and Soubin Shahir's "Manjummel Boys". A follow-up to "Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys", "Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros" has already raked in Rs 215 crore at the worldwide box office, making it currently the fifth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. As per the latest figures reported by Sacnilk, the film maintained steady performance into its fourth week, with a domestic net collection of Rs 113.80 crore and gross of Rs 131.58 crore. With an overseas collection of Rs 83.85 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 215.43 crore, the film is maintaining a weekday business of above Rs 1 crore. Its most immediate goal now is surpassing the lifetime of Mohanlal-starrer "Thudarum" (Rs 235.40 crore): Once this is achieved, it would move "Vaazha 2" to the 4th spot on the all-time worldwide Malayalam grosser list. And if it hits the lifetime collection of "Manjummel Boys" (Rs 241 crore), it will take the 3rd spot in the Top 3 highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. "Vaazha 2" is already the fastest to hit Rs 100 crore gross in Kerala (achieved in 15 days). It should now aim to beat the total Kerala gross of "Lokah Chapter 1 - Chandra" (Rs 120.85 crore) and "Thudarum" (Rs 118.90 crore) to become the #1 film in Kerala history. The Telugu-dubbed version is expected to do well, considering the popularity of "Premalu", another Malayalam coming-of-age drama featuring young and up-and-coming Malayalam actors. Telugu star Ram Charan has already endorsed the film in the form of a social media post. The actor posted a picture with the cast and crew.
