The upcoming FY2026-27 national budget may introduce a minimum 30% value-addition requirement for exporters importing raw materials duty-free under bank guarantee facilities. Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury is set to unveil his maiden national budget in parliament this afternoon (11 June). The proposed budget is expected to have a total outlay of Tk9.38 lakh crore, making it the largest national budget in Bangladesh's history. The government may also extend the facility of importing raw materials duty-free against bank guarantees to 10 additional sectors.
