Eva Green was rushed to hospital after being injured while filming Wednesday. The French actress is making her debut in the third season of the hit Netflix series as Aunt Ophelia but production had to be paused after she suffered a "nasty" injury on set in Dublin, Ireland. A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances. Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well." Production was paused while 45-year-old Eva sought treatment earlier this month, causing changes to the filming schedule. The Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children actress' casting in Wednesday was announced last November, quashing speculation Lady Gaga's brief appearance as Rosalyn Rottwood could lead to her being revealed as Ophelia Frump. Eva said at the time: "I’m thrilled to join the woefully twisted world of Wednesday as Aunt Ophelia. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world, I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams family." And programme bosses were delighted to add Eva to the cast of Wednesday, which features Jenna Ortega in the title role, Catherine Zeta Jones and Luis Guzman as her parents Morticia and Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as her brother Pugsley. Creators, showrunners, and writers Al Gough and Miles Millar previously said: "Eva Green has always brought an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen — elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable. Those qualities make her the perfect choice for Aunt Ophelia. We’re excited to see how she transforms the role and expands Wednesday’s world." Wednesday is Netflix's most popular English language series, and each episode is estimated to cost around $15 million to create. A source said: "Wednesday is a huge priority for Netflix. But since it became such a streaming success, the producers have gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the production secret. The budget for the show is enormous. No expense has been spared in securing huge name actors." Each episode is estimated to cost around £15million to create.
