Bafta-winning studio Supermassive Games is set to release its new game, Directive 8020, after an eight-month delay. In July 2025, the Guildford-based studio announced the delay and the sacking of 36 employees due to the challenging nature of the games industry. The release date was pushed back from 02 October 2025 to 12 May. Creative director Will Doyle stated the team was 'very energised' and used the extra time to enhance the game's final outcome, emphasizing that cinematic games benefit from more development time.
