A Wicklow-based energy ball mix maker is among 21 new food and drink producers now launching their products in selected SuperValu stores across Ireland, following their completion of the Food Academy programme. It marks a significant milestone for the producers involved as they bring their locally produced products to selected SuperValu stores. Humbl. is an energy ball business located in Greystones, founded by Georgina Radic, who wanted to give people an easier option for healthy, on-the-go food that “still feels nourishing”. All humbl. products are made in Ireland, using carefully selected natural whole ingredients, according to the company. The dry mixes are designed to create simple energy balls by just adding water, mixing, and rolling. Because they are dry mixes, they significantly reduce food waste and packaging waste. Georgina said: “As a mum of two, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to prepare healthy food in advance, or have the time to make everything from scratch. "Humbl. was born from that reality, wanting to give people an easier option that still feels nourishing and made with care. "My goal was to create something simple, versatile, and genuinely good for you, without overcomplicating anything. Food doesn’t need to be fancy to support your wellbeing. Sometimes the most powerful thing is bringing it back to basics with real, whole ingredients. “Humbl. is a simple, honest food brand I’ve been developing over the past three years, inspired by my interest in how food supports everyday wellbeing and the realities of busy family life." The Food Academy has been a huge support, giving her the structure to bring humbl. from an idea to a retail-ready product. "The SuperValu Food Academy has been an incredible support throughout this journey. It gave me the structure, information, and confidence I needed to take humbl. from an idea to a real product on its way to the shelves. I’m so grateful to be part of the programme and excited for what’s ahead.” Food Academy offers participants a Certificate in Food Entrepreneurship and learning through a combination of expert-led workshops, hands-on mentoring, and practical retail insights, providing the skills needed to succeed in a fast‐moving food retail sector, while staying true to what makes their products special. Other Wicklow graduates include Hug In A Bowl, making children’s ready-meals in Bray, Ballyhubbock Farm, creating sheep’s milk products in Stratford-on-Slaney, and Wicklow Rapeseed Oil, based in Wicklow town.
