The new independent chairman of KPMG Australia Mike Ebeid accused Labor senator Deborah O’Neill of making completely false statements to the Senate when she first read out a whistleblower’s allegations of misconduct at the firm, suggesting her conduct was very inappropriate and unfair. He made these claims to KPMG deputy chair Carmen Mortell last month in an extraordinary email chain released by the parliamentary committee examining the audit leaks scandal on Thursday afternoon.
