Lizzo’s back with B*TCH, and she did not come to play. STREAM TOP 5 SONGS 5. Happy 2 Be This song has a dark, grungy feel to it, driven by a punchy bass line and smooth production that lets Lizzo’s vocals take center stage. The track is all about being with someone who loves you deeply and brings genuine joy into your life. This person lifts you up when you’re struggling, helps pull you out of dark places, and reminds you that life can still be beautiful. There’s something simple but powerful about the message. It’s romantic without being over the top, and the emotional sincerity really shines through. 4. Whose Hair Is This This track is dramatic, bluesy, and honestly hilarious. Lizzo tells the story of finding a strand of hair in her man’s bed that definitely doesn’t belong to him... and definitely doesn’t belong to her. Naturally, her mind starts racing. She begins questioning him, trying to figure out who’s been around and why he’s acting suspicious. The emotions start building, the accusations start flying, and she’s practically ready to end the relationship right then and there. Then comes the twist. She suddenly remembers she wore a wig that exact color last week. Oops. It’s funny, relatable, and showcases Lizzo’s ability to tell a story while keeping things entertaining. 3. Too Nice This track felt very real. It’s honest, vulnerable, and painfully relatable. Lizzo talks about fake friends, fake love, and the people who mistake kindness for weakness. You know the type. They want to hang out when you’re paying. They claim they miss you when they need something. They’re always around when it’s convenient for them but disappear the second you need support. Lizzo captures that frustration perfectly. It’s about reaching your breaking point and realizing you’re tired of being taken advantage of. The song is short and to the point, but it delivers a message that will resonate with a lot of people. 2. Like A Crime Lizzo absolutely ate on this one. “Like A Crime” is one of the most emotional moments on the album, and you can feel it immediately. The production is stripped back, allowing the soft instrumentation, moody strings, and raw lyrics to take over. The song centers around betrayal and heartbreak. It’s about giving someone your time, energy, and support, helping them become a better version of themselves, only for them to turn around and hurt you. Even worse, they’re out in public rewriting the story and dragging your name through the mud. Lizzo balances anger, sadness, and bitterness beautifully here. She wants to appear unbothered, but underneath it all she’s deeply hurt. It’s dramatic, emotional, and exactly the kind of performance that reminds you how good she can be as a storyteller. 1. Sexy Ladies Okay, I absolutely loved this song. This is Lizzo fully stepping into her rap bag, and it gives major old school hip hop energy. This track is for the girls, period. It’s all about confidence, compliments, body positivity, friendship, and having the best night out imaginable. The energy is very much “we outside,” “we vibing,” and “all my girls are beautiful.” I love that she celebrates different body types, different personalities, and different kinds of beauty all in one song. It’s empowering without feeling forced, and it’s catchy as hell. Easily one of my favorite moments on the album. SONG BY SONG RATING A Toast (4/5) Happy 2 Be (4/5) Don’t Make Me Love U (4/5) BITCH (4/5) She Stole My Man (4/5) Whose Hair Is This (4/5) Little Black Cat (4/5) Sexy Ladies (feat. UCB) (4.5/5) That GRRRL (4/5) Too Nice (4/5) Like A Crime (4/5) Goodmorning! (4/5) RGM RATING (81%) Lizzo’s B*TCH is unapologetically her, and honestly, I can genuinely say it’s my favorite album she’s made so far. This tracklist is fun, fearless, honest, and packed with personality. It covers romance, heartbreak, friendship, betrayal, self confidence, and everything in between. It feels like real life. These are everyday emotions and situations that most people can connect to, and Lizzo tackles them with both humor and heart. Sonically, the album is all over the place in the best possible way. You get early 2000s grunge influences on some tracks, flashes of 90s hip hop and pop on others, and even moments that lean into 80s dance synth energy. There are theatrical R&B cuts, stripped back emotional ballads, and straight up feel good anthems. On paper, it sounds like it shouldn’t work, but somehow it absolutely does. Everything feels cohesive, and nothing sounds out of place. The variety honestly became one of my favorite things about the project. Every track brings something different to the table, which makes the album feel fresh from beginning to end. Overall, B*TCH is a really strong body of work. It’s entertaining, emotionally honest, and full of memorable moments. Even when Lizzo dives into heavier topics, she never loses the energy and personality that make her music so enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend giving this one a spin.
