Madonna has sent a candid message to critics of dance music. The superstar is gearing up to release Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 hit album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Madonna posted a slideshow of images showing her posing in purple outfits and dancing on a disco floor. "If your Dance floor feels dead," she wrote in the caption. "Maybe you're playing the wrong music." The fun post quickly racked up close to 200,000 likes. However, some fans questioned whether Madonna was shading Charli XCX with the comment. In the Brat star's new song Rock Music, she sings in the chorus, "I think the dance floor is dead / So now we're making rock music." Accordingly, one follower wrote, "OH THE CHARLI SHADE," while another mused, "No BRATS on the dance floor! #takenotes." Rock Music is to serve as the lead single from Charli's upcoming seventh studio album. Representatives for the 33-year-old have not yet responded to the speculation. Madonna worked on Confessions II with Stuart Price, who produced the original album. The 67-year-old has already released the lead single, Bring Your Love - a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter. Confessions II is set to drop on 3 July.
