Kumar now leads the USA’s list of most sixes in men’s ODIs with 38, ahead of Monank Patel with 34 and Aaron Jones with 32. Saiteja Mukkamalla has 28 sixes, while Steven Taylor has 27. He and Shubham Ranjane, who remained unbeaten on 57, shared an unbroken partnership of 160 runs to guide the USA to a successful chase of the UAE’s total of 330 for 8, reaching the target with seven balls remaining. The chase was the second-highest successful run chase in League 2 history. The victory lifted the USA to the top of the League 2 standings as they continue their efforts to qualify for next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The USA require just one more win from their remaining matches in the tri-series to secure first place. Having already secured a place in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier through their strong League 2 campaign, the USA aim to finish among the four teams that qualify for the World Cup next year. The USA will look to make their first appearance in the 50-over World Cup, relying on Kumar to maintain his impressive form. Kumar hit five sixes against the UAE, moving past Monank Patel to become the USA’s leading six-hitter in ODI cricket.
