At the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum on 21 April 2026 during Singapore Maritime Week, AET President & CEO Nick Potter discussed how the company is addressing decarbonisation challenges without a unified global regulatory framework. He emphasized that inaction poses greater risks than proactive measures. Without regulatory clarity, AET focuses on cost-effective solutions, prioritizing efficiency improvements such as hull and propulsion upgrades, voyage optimization, and data-driven onboard performance enhancements. These efforts directly reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Concurrently, the company builds fleet resilience and adaptability to evolving technologies, fuels, and infrastructure. LNG dual-fuel vessels are already operational, with ammonia dual-fuel newbuilds supported by long-term charters. Additionally, AET is developing ethanol and hybrid-electric solutions as fuel pathways evolve. The discussion also included contributions from moderator Craig Eason and fellow panellists Nick Contopoulos (Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, ANEMOI Marine Technologies), Prof. Lynn Loo (CEO, Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation), Dhritiman Hui (Managing Director, EPS Ventures), and Søren Andersen (CEO, ZeroNorth).
