The singer, 38, revealed during a TikTok Live for Fenty Beauty on Oct. 7 that she has around 170 songs that have yet to be released, giving fans a glimpse into just how much music she has accumulated during her lengthy break from putting out a full-length project. "If there are 10 products in a vault, then I have at least 17 vaults," Rihanna said of her unreleased work. The revelation comes as fans continue to wait for Rihanna's ninth studio album , which would follow her 2016 record ANTI . Rihanna's longtime absence from releasing a full-length album has become one of the most closely followed musical waits in pop music. Her last studio album included hits such as "Work," "Needed Me" and "Love on the Brain." But Rihanna has indicated that she hasn't completely left music behind. "Nah," the rapper, 38, said when asked whether he was responsible for Rihanna's extended break from releasing an album. "She in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe." He added, "Bro, she working. She cooking, no funny s---. Damn, I'mma get in trouble for this." Rihanna has also previously spoken about her plans for her ninth album. Last year, she told Harper's Bazaar that she had "cracked the code" on the project's musical direction. "This much time away from music needs to count for the next thing everyone hears," she said at the time. "It has to count. It has to matter. I have to show them the worth in the wait. I cannot put up anything mediocre." She also teased that the album would not sound like what fans might expect. She also returned to the stage for the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in 2023, where she performed a selection of her biggest hits and revealed that she was pregnant with her second child. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first son, RZA , in 2022, followed by son Riot in 2023 and daughter Rocki in 2025.
