Rush Hour 4 Delayed Due to Low Offers for Stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker will not be accepting the initial $8 million each offer for them to appear in the upcoming Rush Hour 4. The paltry $8 million apiece that was offered to them was thus rejected by the two stars of the high-grossing action/comedy series. Brett Ratner is slated to direct Rush Hour 4, but without the two main stars signing on, the potential release date of the forthcoming buddy film looks likely to be delayed. It has been nearly 20 years since the third Rush Hour picture. Chan and Tucker could certainly use the extra money, though Chan may have done the fairly recent The Karate Kid series reboot, and Tucker’s last major film, Silver Linings Playbook, came out over a decade ago. Paramount’s backing may help Rush Hour 4 score bigger box-office returns than its profitable predecessors. Chan and Tucker will probably try to renegotiate their contracts for this widely anticipated sequel. Chan’s role in the Rush Hour films feels like the type of performance he does best.
