PUTRAJAYA: Applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) are now open for the land transport sector covering company-owned private vehicles, including jeeps and pick-up trucks, says Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (pic). The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister said successful applicants will become eligible for the diesel subsidy from July 15, subject to approval and the issuance of a fleet card. "To qualify, vehicles must be registered as business vehicles under the Company Private Use (AE) class/code in the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) MySikap system. "In addition, the business must be registered as a sole proprietorship or partnership with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or the relevant local authority in Sabah and Sarawak," he said in a statement on Friday (July 3). Armizan said the subsidy is intended to benefit registered micro and small businesses operating as sole proprietorships and partnerships. Eligible business owners are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible through the MySubsidi portal. The government previously extended SKDS eligibility to two other categories: the public land transport sector and the consumer goods land transport sector.
