Vocus has completed and activated its Horizon fibre network, a 2,000-kilometre long-haul route linking Perth and Port Hedland through Western Australia's Mid West and Pilbara regions. The operator said the network provides the region with an alternative long-haul fibre route, introducing a second independent path for connectivity in an area that has historically relied on a single long-haul cable route. Horizon also connects into Vocus's Darwin-Jakarta-Singapore Cable, providing a direct route from the Pilbara to Singapore.
