Anthony Davis stepped in to defend Trae Young during his confrontation with Daniss Jenkins, allegedly telling him, "I know that he's small, but that's my boy," before Young and Jenkins were both ejected in Washington's 114-108 overtime win over Detroit. Anthony Davis quickly stepped in to defend Trae Young after the Washington Wizards guard became involved in a heated exchange with Detroit Pistons guard Daniss Jenkins during Saturday's preseason matchup. The incident occurred in the third quarter of Washington's eventual 114-108 overtime victory at Capital One Arena. Young and Jenkins exchanged words and light shoves before Jenkins bumped Young and later pushed him again as players attempted to separate the two. Davis was among those who immediately intervened and appeared to make his support for Young clear. "I know that he's small, I know he's small, but that's my boy, okay? That's my boy," Davis allegedly said during the confrontation , sending a veteran message. Officials initially assessed Young and Jenkins double technical fouls, but the two continued talking and received a second set of technicals. That resulted in automatic ejections. Young looked stunned when officials sent him to the locker room. Heated preseason game Young finished with 2 points and 8 assists in 23 minutes before his ejection, shooting 1-of-4 from the field and committing five turnovers. Jenkins had 12 points and 4 assists in 17 minutes for Detroit. Davis, meanwhile, produced a double-double in limited action, recording 10 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in 22.5 minutes. He played only in the first half. The preseason is giving Washington its first extended look at Davis and Young together. AD has yet to make his official regular-season Wizards debut, while Young already debuted for Washington last season after arriving from Atlanta. Like what we are doing?
