Shah Idham Nor Haikal Shaharom’s lawyer, Rafique Rashid Ali, spoke at a press conference at the Klang court complex. The lawyer for the volunteer charged with animal cruelty against a dog named Rocky last month demanded an apology from those who accused Shah Idham of killing or torturing the animal. Rafique Rashid Ali, representing Shah Idham, clarified that the charge sheet does not include the words 'kill', 'torture', 'beat', or 'cause death'. He urged those who labelled Shah Idham as a cruel killer to apologise. Rafique previously warned that Shah Idham was considering legal action against those who spread threatening and slanderous remarks against him after the incident. Shah Idham claimed he was charged with causing unnecessary pain or suffering to the dog by strangling it with a looped rope on July 29. The dog’s owner, S Roghini Devi, was also charged with animal cruelty and keeping Rocky without a licence.
