We unpack the main beauty trends emerging from the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion weeks in Milan and Paris. Fashion Week beauty looks can sometimes feel a world away from everyday wear. That’s understandable: runway looks are designed to make an impact, with a sense of drama and occasion that brings a collection to life. Look a little closer, however, and there are often useful signposts for where beauty is headed. A particular texture, a fresh take on colour or an unexpected placement can offer inspiration without requiring a pro-worthy transformation. For fashion houses with beauty lines, the shows also provide an opportunity to spotlight new and upcoming products. Tom Ford sected the runway with brand new perfume Tobacco Chocolat, offering a complete beauty story for the occasion. Photo / Supplied This season, several themes emerged. Fresh, glowing skin that is elevated, without looking overdone, is perhaps the most consistent approach. It reflects how foundations and powders are evolving as we want our complexion to look great, but not like we’ve layered product on. Lighter coverage is created in a number of ways, from prioritising skincare and using only the lightest touch of concealer, to new skin tint formulations. Alongside this complexion approach was a single statement accent – a bold lip, creative eyeliner or wash of unexpected colour across the eyes. Sleek, slicked-back hair provided the perfect counterpoint to let that fashion and accessories shine, particularly trailing statement earrings. Finally, a new area of beauty that’s growing is the use of fragrance to set the scene for guests. New releases are being tied in with a fashion moment as perfume’s popularity continues to drive profits for many beauty arms of luxury houses. Dior At Dior, a glint of silver was the surprising makeup addition to complement the light and airy S/S27 womenswear collection . Dior’s creative and image director Peter Philips left skin fresh and natural with a whisper of Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation and Concealer and Backstage Rosy Glow Blush Stick, then played up the eyes with a metallic take on winged eyeliner using glitter or miniscule strips of reflective foil. Givenchy Some models at Givenchy rocked a bold, geometric application of green eye colour while others let clean skin and slicked back locks shine. One detail that caught our attention was the dewy lip colour, a flattering perfect nude hue ( see image, top ) created with the fashion house’s newly released Le Rouge Satin Silk Lipstick in N03-Beige Crush . Each look was finished with a spritz of L’Interdit Elixir perfume. Tom Ford Lips stole the limelight at Tom Ford, where a glassy slick of red was created with Tom Ford Runway Liquid Lip Color Matte in 16 Scarlet Rouge topped with Gloss Luxe in 01 Disclosure. Skin was perfected with the new Architecture Multi-Use Foundation Stick while Stylo Shimmer eyeliner in Copper added a subtle shine of colour along lash lines. Tom Ford has made a habit of launching perfumes alongside his fashion collections and this time the runway was scented with Tobacco Chocolat, a rich, decadent fragrance that pairs warm tobacco notes with dark chocolate. Prada At Prada, the mood for summer was understated and effortlessly cool, reminding us how good it feels to wear minimal makeup in the heat of the season. Skincare took priority, beginning with the brand’s Prada Augmented Skin Eye Cream . Prada Conceal was then applied selectively to correct and blur the complexion, Prada Reset Rebalancing Setting Powder was used to finish the skin. The lightest touch of colour was tapped on to lips in Prada Monochrome Hyper Matte Lipstick in P60 Brick Pink.
