Busta Rhymes (real name Trevor Smith Jr.) has reached a private settlement with his former personal assistant, Dashiel Gables. In January 2025, Smith was arrested in Brooklyn, New York, for allegedly assaulting Gables. Gables filed a federal lawsuit in August 2024, accusing Smith of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wage violations. Smith denied the allegations and filed a countersuit for defamation. The settlement was finalized following mediation, with terms to be disclosed by 1 June 2025. Representatives for both parties have not commented on the details.
