Woo Seo-yun, the grand prize winner of the 70th Miss Korea pageant, poses with her father, former basketball player Woo Ji-won, after the contest at Coex Auditorium in Seoul's Gangnam District. Woo Seo-yun, 22, the daughter of Woo Ji-won, was crowned Miss Korea 2026 on Saturday at the pageant hosted by Global E&B, an affiliate of the Hankook Ilbo, the sister paper of The Korea Times. The finalists included 26 participants selected from eight regional competitions nationwide. Oh Su-min, 25, a student at Waseda University, was first runner-up, and Lee Min-sol, studying economics at Yonsei University, was second runner-up. Woo expressed gratitude for her family, friends, and fellow contestants, saying she was overwhelmed by the support. She also praised the effort of all participants, calling their performance memorable. As the eldest daughter of Woo Ji-won, Woo Seo-yun has gained public attention through appearances on Korean television programs, including 'Star Junior Show Bungeoppang' and 'Leaving the Nest 3'. She is currently studying fine arts at Tufts University in Boston.
