The wardrobe is officially open again – and this time, Greta Gerwig is leading the way. Netflix has confirmed the title and release dates for Gerwig’s long-awaited Chronicles of Narnia reboot. The first film, Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, arrives in theaters on February 12, 2027, before landing on Netflix on April 2. The cast includes Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Emma Mackey, and Denise Gough. Gerwig, who writes, directs, and produces the film, explained her personal connection to the story: she was a child when she first read The Magician's Nephew and fell in love with the idea of a cosmic lion creating Narnia through music. Unlike earlier Narnia movies, Gerwig’s film starts at the origin of the timeline, exploring Aslan’s creation of Narnia itself. This is set to be a fantasy epic that will emotionally impact a new generation.
