A salon that has grown from a one-woman operation into a thriving family-run clinic could be voted the best in Bradford. House of Laser & Aesthetics, on Hawes Mount in Little Horton, has been shortlisted for the T&A Best Beauty Salon 2026 award. Owner Naheed Hamid says she was overwhelmed when she learned the business had been nominated. “We were in absolute disbelief,” she said. “We’re so incredibly thankful to all of our lovely clients who have voted for us and feel like we deserve to have the number one spot.” The salon. (Image: House of Laser) Naheed describes herself as the “owner, manager, the cleaner – everything”, reflecting the hands-on approach that has helped shape the family-run business over the past two decades. Journey began two decades ago Her journey in the aesthetics industry began in 2005, when she provided mobile laser hair removal treatments across the UK. After years of travelling between cities including Bradford, London, Birmingham and Liverpool, she opened a one-room clinic in Bradford in 2016. Demand continued to grow and, by 2023, House of Laser had expanded into larger premises with four treatment rooms. Today, Naheed works alongside her youngest daughter, Saleena, and daughter-in-law, Gabriella, creating a family team providing a wide range of beauty and aesthetics treatments. 'Everybody is equal' Naheed believes the nomination reflects the standards the clinic strives to uphold, from honest advice and tailored treatments to creating a welcoming environment for every client. “We assume our clients have nominated us due to our high standard of work and long-lasting results, our honest and customised treatments,” she said. “We believe that everybody is equal and they deserve to feel well looked after and comfortable while in our hands.” The salon. (Image: House of Laser) The clinic specialises in laser hair removal, alongside vitamin infusions, skin treatments, facials, lash and brow services, and a range of removal treatments for skin tags, moles and scars. House of Laser says it has built a loyal customer base, attracting clients from across the UK and beyond. However, Naheed says the business remains rooted in its local community. “We feel that our community is what makes us,” she said. The salon. She said: “I’m in love with my business, to be honest. “I do other things, I do charity work, I’ve supported people out of the country, but more than anything, it’s this work, I’m dedicated to it.” Asked what winning the competition would mean to her, Naheed said it would be a proud moment. “I think I do deserve this, because honestly, I’ve done a lot for the community.” Readers can vote by filling in the coupon printed in any edition of the newspaper between now and October 10.
