Colombo: During the second Test match against Sri Lanka, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant experienced pain in his right shoulder while keeping wickets at the end of Day 2. Pant was absent from the field as India posted a score of 503/9d. He had earlier scored 63 but sustained a shoulder injury after a hit on his left wrist on Day 1, forcing him to retire hurt. Dhruv Jurel, one of the three wicketkeepers in the team, kept wickets for the final phase of Day 2, reducing Sri Lanka to 8/2 in three overs. Jurel, who scored an unbeaten 115, revealed Pant’s shoulder issue during a press conference. He stated, 'He got hurt on his right shoulder. Physio is monitoring him. Today, I kept wickets because he had pain in his right shoulder. Hopefully, he'll be fine tomorrow.'
