Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation dropped a teaser trailer for a fifth "Shrek" movie featuring the latter studio's new brand of animation. The teaser begins with the iconic "Fairytale" theme as a storybook with an onion on the cover opens to tease Shrek and Donkey's adventure to Further, Further Away — a city different from the familiar kingdom of Far, Far Away. Donkey voiced by Eddie Murphy chimes in his excitement, much to Shrek's (Mike Myers) exasperation. Further, Further Away is nowhere as charming though, with one scene referencing "Frozen," which has Fiona (Cameron Diaz) asking they speed up the journey. "Shrek and Donkey, two stalwart friends, off on another whirlwind big city adventure," Donkey narrates over quick clips which end with the trio and two of the ogre couple's kids landing in jail. While incarcerated, Donkey sings Player's "Baby Come Back" and Shrek cuts him off before his friend starts another song. The title card drops as Smash Mouth's "All Star" plays ending with confirmation the movie will drop next year. Joining the voice cast are Zendaya, Marcello Hernandez, and Skyler Gisondo as Shrek and Fiona's children, Felicia, Fergus, and Farkle. Directing "Shrek 5" are the duo of Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn. Vernon, a Dreamworks storyboard artist and voice actor, co-directed "Shrek 2" and also voices the Gingerbread Man who gets a quick scene in the teaser trailer. Dohrn, meanwhile, was a writer on the previous three "Shrek" movies and voiced Rumpelstiltskin in 2010's "Shrek Forever After," the last "Shrek" film released in cinemas aside from the two "Puss in Boots" movies. Co-directing with them is Brad Ableson while Gina Shay and Chris Meledandri board as producers.
