Larry David says former friend Alan Dershowitz ‘made a deal with the devil’ as Trump’s lawyer

Larry David has spoken about the collapse of his friendship with Alan Dershowitz, saying Dershowitz ‘made a deal with the devil’ when he became Donald Trump’s lawyer. Dershowitz, a former Harvard law professor, has represented Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, OJ Simpson, and Harvey Weinstein at various points in his career. He also served on Trump’s defense team during the 2020 impeachment trial. In 2021, reports emerged of a public argument between David and Dershowitz on Martha’s Vineyard, where David called Dershowitz ‘disgusting.’ Dershowitz later confirmed the account, stating he was hurt that David did not reach out after his son’s death from a stroke. In a new Atlantic profile, David admitted regret for not contacting Dershowitz but also claimed Dershowitz ‘made a deal with the devil’ and blamed him for his political shift to the Republican Party. In April, Dershowitz switched parties after decades of Democratic support, calling it the ‘most anti-Israel party in US history.’ In June, the U.S. Supreme Court denied Dershowitz’s request to revive a $300 million defamation lawsuit against CNN over edited remarks.
