A Major Redevelopment at Etosha's Eastern Gate The extensive modernization program has transformed Mokuti Etosha into a leading premium gateway for northern Namibia. Positioned directly outside Etosha National Park, the lodge provides travelers with direct access to the park's famous wildlife waterholes and vast salt pan. The structural overhaul includes renovated guest rooms, upgraded Junior Suites, and the newly created Ombala Presidential Suite. Public areas have been redesigned alongside the addition of upgraded conference spaces and the open-air SkyBoma dining venue. Cultural Heritage and Community Integration The redesign prioritizes representation of local communities, highlighting the heritage and connection of the indigenous Hai//om people. This is visible in the architecture, curated local artwork, and educational guest tours. The lodge has also expanded its local retail options with the Leisure Chapter, a dedicated shop featuring handcrafted souvenirs and art pieces made by Namibian artisans. Regional Economic Impact and Growth The N$260 million development project provided significant employment during the construction phase, supporting regional builders and manufacturers. Out of the 115 workers employed on-site, 111 were Namibian nationals, while 15 local suppliers provided materials. As part of its reopening, the lodge is expanding its permanent staff, creating new careers within the regional hospitality sector and bolstering northern Namibia's tourism economy.
