As anticipation builds for the ' Ramayana ' trailer release, the upcoming mythological epic has received its first international classification. According to an update on the Australian Classification Board website, a 34-minute footage from the Ranbir Kapoor-led film has been certified and it offers fans a tease of what it is touted to be one of the most ambitious Indian film adaptations of all time. According to the Australian Classification Board's listing, the footage of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial has been awarded an 'M' (Mature) classification for "moderate violence." 'M' classification and its meaning As per the Australian guideline, an 'M' (Mature) classification is an advisory rating. Films and computer games classified as 'M' are 'not recommended for children under the age of 15'. They can have content such as 'violence and themes that require a mature outlook'. Children under the age of 15 may legally access this content. 'Ramayana' synopsis A brief synopsis of the film was also shared on the site that reads, "An ancient epic follows a young prince and princess whose marriage and subsequent exile mark the beginning of a legendary journey. Their story of love, duty and destiny sets the stage for greater challenges ahead." 'Ramayana' gears up for trailer launch The latest certification comes just days before the makers are expected to unveil the film's theatrical trailer. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India granted the trailer a 'U' (Universal) certificate. As per the update, the film will have two trailers, with one approximately 4 minutes long and the other with a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds. While the trailers are expected to roll out next week, on July 24, the 34-minute-clip sent to the Australian certification is understood to be for a separate presentation of the film and not the theatrical trailer. While it is still unclear what the contents of this clip is, online chatter indicates that it could be the same footage previously screened at CinemaCon early this year. About the film Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Produced by Namit Malhotra, the two-part epic features music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer . The film will release in a two-part epic saga, with the first part slated to release on Diwali 2026 and the second instalment scheduled to arrive on Diwali 2027.
