человек в магазине Food, housing costs, energy, and services are becoming more expensive, while part of the society sees their incomes growing slowly or not at all. It becomes even harder when a foreigner from another country compares life here in Latvia to their home. This happened with Agnese, who shared this experience on social media. "This week I am hosting two Germans as part of an Erasmus+ exchange visit. One of the first questions was: ‘How can you survive here?’ I was a bit taken aback, then they continued: ‘Your food prices are x2 higher than ours, while salaries are ÷2.’ I said, ‘That’s how we live, we live in a ‘rich’ country!’” Agnese jokes. In the comments, not everyone agrees with this assessment. Ilze suggests asking the Germans how much their housing, car maintenance, etc. costs. In her opinion, in many aspects, living in Latvia is cheaper.
