Southern Africa: Chihana Wraps Up Whirlwind SADC Diplomatic Mission With Full Ceremonial Farewell in Durban

Malawi's Second Vice President Enock Kamzingeni Chihana was given a full ceremonial send-off on Tuesday, departing King Shaka International Airport in Durban after successfully leading the nation's high-level delegation at the 46th SADC Heads of State and Government Summit. Chihana was personally handpicked by President Arthur Peter Mutharika to represent Malawi at this critical regional event. He arrived in South Africa with senior officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs George Chaponda, Minister of Defence Feston Kaupa, Principal Secretary Gift Dulla, and Head of Communication Kelvin Mposa Tchali. During his stay, Chihana received full ceremonial honors, including a Guard of Honour by the South African Army on the tarmac. A farewell party included Malawi's High Commissioner Stella Ndau, KwaZulu-Natal Province official Mbali Shinga, and other senior officials. Chihana then traveled to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, where he will connect before landing at Bakili Muluzi International Airport on Thursday, August 20.
