"Stranger Things with seniors" is snuffed out less than a month after its premiere. Life sure is tough in the word of algorithms and data. Less than a month after its streaming premiere, Netflix has axed sci-fi monster series The Boroughs produced by the Duffer Bros. Nicknamed “ Stranger Things with seniors”, the series starring Alfred Molina, Denis O’Hare, Alfre Woodard, Geena Davis, Bill Pullman, Clarke Peters and Ed Begley Jr. centred around a spooky presence at a retirement village in Albuquerque, New Mexico. But ending so suddenly suggests there must have been poor completion rates by audiences. Deadline observes , in its first full week The Boroughs drew 9.5m views, but then quickly sank to 3.7m views the next week. The Boroughs also involves special effects. The elaborate production, along with its all-star cast, made for a high price tag, something Netflix weighs against viewing when making renewal decisions.
