At least seven areas in Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon are expected to continue to experience dangerous heat index levels on Friday, May 15, 2026. Despite generally fair weather conditions forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday, at least seven areas in Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon are expected to continue to have dangerous heat index levels. In Bacoor City, Cavite, authorities reminded residents to take precautionary measures as the heat index may reach 44 degrees Celsius during the day. “This means the weather will feel extremely hot and may lead to heat-related illnesses if we are exposed for long periods,” the local government said in an advisory posted on Facebook. Pagasa also forecast a 44°C heat index at Sangley Point in Cavite City. In Batangas, Talisay town and Tanauan City are expected to record a heat index of 43°C. Meanwhile, Taytay town in Rizal may experience a heat index of 42.73°C, according to the local government’s public information office. In Quezon province, the towns of Alabat and Infanta are forecast to register a heat index of 42°C. Pagasa classifies heat index values from 42°C to 51°C as “danger,” warning that prolonged exposure to extreme heat may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. The heat index measures the level of discomfort of the human body experiences due to the combined effects of temperature and humidity. The Department of Health (DOH) advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and take preventive measures against heat-related illnesses amid the high heat index conditions. The agency also urged the public to seek immediate medical attention in suspected heat stroke cases, warning that the condition may cause body temperature to rise to dangerous levels and severely damage vital organs.
