Story of the Movie The story begins with the past of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who enters the world of crime after the injustice done to his family. After leaving prison, he gets an opportunity to work for India and goes on an undercover mission in Pakistan as Hamza Ali Mazari. Following the first part, the story now revolves around power and gang warfare in Lyari. The task of taking over the throne left vacant after the death of Rehman Daku (Akshay Khanna), eliminating his enemies, and achieving his true mission is the crux of the film. This time, references to issues like demonetization and Atiq Ahmed, along with political connections from both India and abroad, have been added to the story. The biggest suspense concerns Bade Saheb, around whom the entire story revolves. However, the revelation, as elaborate as it was made, fails to make the impact it deserves. The first half of the film feels a bit slow and drawn out, but after the interval, the story picks up pace and makes an impact by the climax. Acting in the film Ranveer Singh is the heart of the film. He displays distinct body language and attitude in both Jaskirat and Hamza's roles. He dominates the screen, whether it's action, anger, or emotion. Rakesh Bedi is a surprise package again. R. Madhavan's presence strengthens the film whenever he appears. Sanjay Dutt's presence is good, but limited. Arjun Rampal's character isn't as menacing this time. Sara Arjun has less screen time, but she makes an impact in her part. Her character could have been given more depth. Direction and technical aspects of the film By KASHILEMBO WABU on Unsplash Aditya Dhar has expanded the film's scale. The research and detailing are evident, especially when it touches on real events. However, this effort sometimes makes the film feel heavy and a bit documentary-like. The tight storytelling of the first half weakens a bit here. Many scenes feel long, and some twists are predictable. However, the direction picks up in the second half, and the climax becomes stronger. The cinematography and action sequences are excellent. The background score is particularly impressive in the climax, but the editing could have been tighter. Both parts of 'Dhurandhar' grossed ₹3000 crore worldwide: the first Indian film to do so; the first part grossed ₹1307 crore, the second ₹1718 crore Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 together have grossed over ₹3,000 crore worldwide. This has made it the first Indian film franchise to gross over ₹3,000 crore. When a film is made into multiple sequels after its success, it becomes a franchise. According to the trade website SacNilk, Dhurandhar 2's India net collection has reached ₹1,088.62 crore and India gross ₹1,303.37 crore. The film has grossed ₹415.25 crore overseas. This brings the film's worldwide gross to ₹1,718.62 crore. Gross collection is the total ticket sales, while net collection is the tax-free earnings. The worldwide collection of both the films reached ₹3,025.97 crore. Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar grossed approximately ₹1,307.35 crore worldwide. Its sequel, Dhurandhar 2, released on March 19, 2026, grossed approximately ₹1,718.62 crore in just 26 days. This brings the combined worldwide collection of both films to ₹3,025.97 crore. Notably, Dhurandhar 2 is currently running in theaters. Dhurandhar has left behind other big films of Indian cinema in terms of earnings. The total earnings of both parts of Pushpa was around ₹2,192 crores. Pushpa had earned around ₹350.10 crores and the second part had earned ₹1,742.10 crores worldwide. Whereas, both parts of Baahubali had done business of around ₹2,438 crores. Baahubali had earned around ₹650.00 crores and the second part had earned ₹1,788.10 crores worldwide. Dhurandhar received a great response By Imagine Buddy on Unsplash The first part of Dhurandhar performed exceptionally well at the Indian and international box offices, earning approximately ₹1,307 crore worldwide. The film's gross collection in India was ₹1,005.85 crore, while the net collection was approximately ₹840 crore. The film also received a strong response in foreign markets, grossing approximately ₹299.5 crore overseas. It also broke the record of Baahubali 2 by earning over ₹193.06 crore in the US and Canada. Final Verdict on the Film Dhurandhar 2 is a big and ambitious film that attempts to deliver a different cinematic experience by combining action, politics, and real events. However, its length, loose screenplay, and some incomplete characters prevent it from being as powerful as the first part. Akshaye Khanna's absence is also felt in the second part. Nevertheless, Ranveer Singh's stellar performance, a strong second half, and an impactful climax make this a good theatrical experience. If you enjoyed the first part, you should definitely watch this one, just keep your expectations balanced.
