Ellen DeGeneres is ready to make a comeback in Hollywood. According to Deadline, she will voice Dory in a new Finding Nemo short film. Ellen first voiced Dory in 2003’s Finding Nemo, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. She reprised the role in 2016’s Finding Dory, earning over $1 billion globally. During an interview with the BBC in July 2025, Ellen revealed she was considering new projects, stating, 'I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens, but I'm a little bit bored.' Ellen had moved to the U.K. in 2024 after ending her daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In February, an insider revealed to People magazine that Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi, were planning to establish new roots in the U.S., though she would continue splitting time between the U.K. and Montecito, California. The source noted they missed the California weather and horse scene, with Portia loving polo and her horses.
