While fans search for clues to what Taylor Swift’s wedding dress might look like, Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson dropped the biggest hint yet on the Paris runway. For his second haute couture collection, watched by Sabrina Carpenter who also attended the Swift and Travis Kelce nuptials at Madison Square Garden, Anderson sent out a wedding gown worthy of a pop princess to close the show. There was something very Folklore about the ethereal white chiffon gown’s lace details, resembling ferns with straps delicately falling off the shoulders. An asymmetrical train completed the bridal look. The wedding gown that closed the Dior show, designed by Jonathan Anderson. An insider told US magazine People, with ferns, trees and the arena seats covered in white. Backstage at the hothouse venue in the gardens of the Musée Rodin, Anderson told WWD about his experience working on Swift’s wedding gown. “It was a joy to work with her,” Anderson said. “We became very good friends. “It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding.” An announcement of Swift and Kelce’s wedding day confirmed that the couple wore haute couture Dior creations. “Christian Dior Haute Couture is delighted to confirm it has created the wedding looks for the marriage of Taylor and Travis,” the statement said. “They have been created in Dior’s ateliers at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, and designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the couple.” The runway also featured metallic pleated dresses knotted like discarded Ferrero Rocher wrappers and dresses and suits resembling fields of daisies. Evidence of the shrinking gap between the runway and the toned shoulders of celebrities was demonstrated by Zendaya on the press tour for Christopher Nolan’s latest epic The Odyssey, where she stars opposite husband Tom Holland. While we still haven’t seen Zendaya’s wedding dress, she appeared in London wearing a Schiaparelli dress that was on the Paris runway only hours earlier. The dress featured a bustier moulded in silicon, glazed to resemble a sculpture, with a fringed skirt lit from within, designed by Daniel Roseberry, who created singer Dua Lipa’s suit for her marriage to actor Callum Turner. Model and media entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, who surprised many people by making Swift’s wedding guest list following rumours of a tumultuous friendship, took to the runway for Schiaparelli. The 33-year-old model wore a dress with a blue moulded silicon bodice and sheer skirt with flora embellishment. Bad Bunny, who did not attend the Swift wedding, managed to crack the Schiaparelli front row, wearing a pair of cowboy boots with Cuban heels that could catch the attention of Tom Cruise. His custom butter yellow suit, with gold braid tie, would have looked great on Kelce, who at 1.96 metres probably doesn’t need the boots.
