Hyo-kyung, a former member of the girl group Ariaz, exposed absurd practices in the K-pop industry. She recently uploaded a video titled 'Suga Daddy's Reality by Former K-pop Idol' on her YouTube channel 'Hyoki.' In the video, Hyo-kyung said, 'I had a long thought before bringing this up, but I made it public in the hope that the same damage would not be repeated.' She revealed that 'K-pop “Sugar Daddy” actually exists,' detailing firsthand shocking situations she witnessed as an idol. One example was a company member dating a CEO with a large age gap, who was promoted despite being unqualified. Rumors about this relationship spread across the industry, including to her. Hyo-kyung also confessed that she was cast in a movie after quitting the group but found the script included a high-level scene, suggesting exploitation. She explained that proposals targeting unknown idols or trainees are common because they have no income, but she chose a simple life and became a vocal coach, feeling this strengthens her. Additionally, Hyo-kyung proved her skills by finishing in the final 8th place in the JTBC audition program 'Mix Nine' in 2018. She debuted with Ariaz in 2019 under Rising Entertainment but the group disbanded in April 2022.
