Filipino moms are taking ‘diskarte’ to the next level as PLDT Home’s Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH) and Google Philippines team up for the second Gemini Academy. This initiative focuses on AI-driven digital mastery, demonstrating how tools like Gemini, NotebookLM, Lyria, Nano Banana, and Pomelli can simplify daily tasks such as writing product descriptions, managing customer replies, and creating content. The goal is to help women stay competitive in a fast-changing digital world. Cheryl Maxine Loyola, AVP and Head of PR and Brand Advocacy at PLDT Home, stated that AI is now accessible to everyone. ‘When you put tools like Gemini in the hands of women who are already ‘madiskarte’, you do more than improve productivity—you unlock potential,’ she shared. Daphne Gripal Abello, Marketing PR Manager, emphasized that this new ‘diskarte’ allows women to lead and innovate with confidence. ‘What we’re seeing today is a new kind of ‘diskarte’—one where Filipina entrepreneurs are not just adopting technology but using AI to lead, innovate, and scale their businesses with confidence, ultimately leading their own success story.’ Two mompreneurs demonstrated real-world impact: Princess Alvarez of ISLA Everything Accessories built a custom pricing calculator using Gemini, while Jenielyn Sicabalo-Nieva of MP Nieva’s Flower Shop used AI to research bouquet trends and gift ideas. The upcoming Gawad Madiskarte Awards will introduce the Diskarteng Digital Award, honoring women who use AI to grow their businesses. Prep Palacios, Google Philippines Country Manager, noted that the initiative aims to recognize Filipinas who lead in the digital space, not just participate. PLDT Home and Google are transforming connectivity into capability, empowering Filipino moms to take charge in the AI era.
