KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s policy consistency and stronger economic fundamentals continue to support investor confidence, even amid concerns over the domestic political environment, said Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour. The governor addressed investor concerns about whether the current political environment could pose a downside risk to Malaysia’s targeted 4 to 5 percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth for 2026. He emphasized that the Malaysian economy has shown notable resilience, supported by intact growth drivers and sustained reform efforts. On political uncertainty, he stated, 'Our economy has demonstrated a great deal of resilience because our economic fundamentals remain strong and our growth drivers are intact.'
