Singapore Inflation July 2026: Core Rate Hits 2.0%, Headline at 2.2% - News and Statistics

Aug 24, 2026 The Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Ministry of Trade and Industry reported on 24 August 2026 that the country's core inflation rate , as measured by the MAS Core Inflation index , rose to 2.0% year-on-year in July, up from 1.6% in June. This increase was attributed to higher inflation in electricity and gas, services, and food. On a month-on-month basis, core prices increased by 0.3% in July. Meanwhile, the headline CPI-All Items inflation rate also accelerated, reaching 2.2% year-on-year in July, compared to 1.9% in June. The pickup was driven by higher accommodation inflation alongside the rise in core inflation. However, on a month-on-month basis, the CPI-All Items index declined by 0.2% in July. 1.
