The 36-year-old appeared to be in immediate discomfort, clutching his neck region while remaining on the ground. A statement from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that he was assessed by the team physiotherapist and doctor on the ground before being taken to hospital for a precautionary scan. Chandimal, 36, was dismissed for 4 in the first innings as the hosts conceded a big 178-run lead to India and face a tall fourth innings chase.
