Tribeny Rai’s sophomore feature project selected for Busan’s Prestigious Asian Project Market

GANGTOK,: After the international success of her debut Nepali feature film ‘Shape of Momo’, Sikkimese filmmaker Tribeny Rai’s sophomore project, ‘A Chronicle of Minor Things’ (working title), has been selected for the Asian Project Market (APM), one of Asia’s most prestigious co-production and financing platforms for feature films. APM is held annually as part of the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) during the Busan International Film Festival in Busan, South Korea. Tribeny Rai said: “Film markets have played such an instrumental role in the journey of my debut feature, so I am very excited about this selection, especially given my relationship with the Busan International Film Festival. I am currently developing the script and look forward to the collaborations that lie ahead.” Tribeny’s debut feature, ‘Shape of Momo’, premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, where it won two awards. The film has since travelled to several prestigious international film festivals, earning critical acclaim and multiple honours. Without revealing much about the project, the filmmaker shared that ‘A Chronicle of Minor Things’ is set in Sikkim and continues her engagement with stories rooted in the Eastern Himalayas. The 2026 edition of the Asian Project Market received 604 submissions from 48 countries, from which 30 feature film projects from across Asia were selected for presentation at the market, a press release informs.
