Actor Trisha Krishnan recently sparked conversation online after suggesting she was not adequately included in the promotions of her upcoming film Karuppu, co-starring Suriya. The film, directed by RJ Balaji, marks the duo’s reunion after nearly two decades. Trisha’s comments gained traction after a fan admitted forgetting her role in the project. She also responded to a critic questioning her absence from the audio launch, humorously stating her invite might have been lost in the mail. Executive producer Aditi Ravindranath, who previously worked with Suriya on Navarasa, publicly supported Trisha’s stance, agreeing with a fan’s post criticizing the industry for allegedly treating male and female stars differently. She re-shared a post highlighting Trisha’s consistent presence at promotional events for past films like Ponniyin Selvan, Leo, Identity, and Thug Life, emphasizing her proactive role in promoting her work. Meanwhile, the Karuppu team released a glimpse of Trisha’s character, Preethi, portraying her as a lawyer in a courtroom setting, along with a dance sequence. The film also features Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi, with the director playing a cameo. Trisha and Suriya have previously collaborated in films like Mounam Pesiyadhe, Aayutha Ezhuthu, and Aaru. Karuppu is set for a May 14 theatrical release.
