Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday (July 12, 2026) reviewed the assistance being extended to victims of the boat accident in Vietnam and directed officials to ensure the speedy repatriation of the affected tourists and the mortal remains of those who lost their lives. During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that Gelle Kishore, who was injured in the accident, is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Vietnam. They said his condition is gradually improving and that he is receiving the necessary medical care. Officials also told the Chief Minister that the Indian Embassy in Vietnam has engaged an agency to facilitate the handover and transportation of the bodies of the deceased. The process of completing the formalities and transporting the mortal remains to their native places has already commenced, they said. The Chief Minister was further informed that arrangements had been made to fly the tourists who survived the accident back to their hometowns on Sunday (July 12, 2026). The officials said the air tickets for the stranded passengers had been arranged by the concerned mobile service provider. Mr. Naidu directed Andhra Pradesh Bhavan officials to extend all necessary assistance until every affected person returns safely to India and the transportation of the mortal remains is completed. He also instructed them to maintain close coordination with the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to ensure the repatriation process is completed smoothly and without delay.
