Get ready for huge tunes and plenty of famous faces as a brand-new festival launches in Kent this weekend. Canterbury Live is set to bring more than 40,000 music fans together for a celebration of pop, dance, and iconic British music. Chart-topping boyband JLS are kicking things off on the Friday. Some of the biggest names in the industry are heading to the St Lawrence Ground, with JLS, Becky Hill, and Madness topping the bill of three consecutive nights of live outdoor entertainment. Special guests include Wanted 2.0, Pixie Lott, Ella Eyre, Cast, the Beat ft Ranking Jnr, and the Ordinary Boys. Tickets went on sale in February and there are now a limited number remaining. Gates open at 3 PM this Friday and 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday, with security checks before entry. Public transport is encouraged, with Southeastern helping fans travel. The St Lawrence Ground is within walking distance of Canterbury East and West train stations. No public parking is available; alternative parking or public transport is advised. Bags must be A4 size or smaller, and only empty reusable water bottles or sealed 500ml water bottles are allowed. Picnic blankets are permitted, but bulky items are not. The event is fully cashless, and no animals (except registered assistance dogs) are allowed. It is family-friendly for those aged six and over, with children under 18 requiring adult supervision. The festival includes performances, food, drinks, and a spotlight on emerging Kent talent through the BBC Introducing partnership. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. Last-minute tips include charging your phone, planning your journey, and arriving early.
