Blackpink's Lisa apologizes for group's 10th anniversary events

Blackpink's Lisa apologized to fans on Friday over the group's 10th anniversary celebrations, the third of its four members to do so. 'It's been almost a week since our 10-year anniversary,' Lisa said on the paid fan communication platform Bubble. 'As we are all aware, there have been some matters that have been circulating online.' 'Which makes me sad and I'm truly sorry about how things turned out. I can't even imagine how sad this must have been because I was too. It was supposed to be a special moment and a time of celebration for all of us.' [...] 'I'm not here to justify anything or make a point, only to honor the love and connection we shared because I'm truly grateful that we were able to come together.' Blackpink marked a decade since its debut on Aug. 8 with a meet-and-greet at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan District, central Seoul. YG Entertainment announced the event just two days ago on Aug. 6, saying only members whose schedules allowed would participate. Fans, collectively known as Blinks, had already complained that the agency had planned nothing for the milestone. The announcement deepened anger rather than settling it. Many said two days was too little notice for a 10th anniversary, and the guest list ran to only 40 people. While all four members—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—are under separate agencies for their individual activities, YG Entertainment is responsible for the group's activities. All four members turned up in the end, but the disappointment did not lift. Jisoo, who was seen in tears on the day of the event, apologized first. Rosé followed on Tuesday with a message of her own: 'I had waited for this 10th anniversary as much as Blinks did, and I felt a lot of regret as it came around.' Blackpink debuted on Aug. 8, 2016, under YG Entertainment. The group released its third EP, 'Deadline,' in February and closed a stadium world tour of the same name in Hong Kong in January.
