The K-pop stars' 2026 Met Gala appearances made for a rare group study in individual image-making. Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé arrived under the same theme, but the Blackpink Met Gala 2026 outfits moved through four different houses, archives and reference points. For Jisoo, the night marked her Met Gala debut. The Blackpink member arrived in a glimmering pink Dior gown, a strapless, backless column dress made in gazar and covered in embroidery inspired by a garden scene. Floral bouquets edged the dress, while a matching headpiece carried fabric flower embroidery into the hair. The look was finished with Cartier jewellery, including a Cartier Collection necklace from 1905. Dior’s long relationship with painterly references made the look an apt first step onto the museum stairs, with the gown drawing from art history through surface, craft and composition. Jennie, now on her fourth consecutive Met Gala appearance, stayed within the Chanel universe but moved into a cooler mood. Working with stylist Sam Woolf, the singer, actor and Chanel global ambassador wore a blue column dress with a bustier covered in sequin leaves. The dress reportedly took 540 hours to create and included 15,000 embroidered elements, a detail that made the simplicity of the silhouette deceptive in the best way. She accessorised with Chanel High Jewellery in gold and white diamonds, while pale pink makeup and an updo with a small kiss curl kept the beauty look in step with the dress. Lisa’s custom Robert Wun gown took the theme towards the body itself. The diaphanous gown was developed around an arm motif, with Wun and his team 3D-scanning Lisa’s own arms to create a veiled arrangement inspired by traditional Thai dance positions. The reference connected Lisa’s physical form to sculpture, movement and cultural memory, making the gown one of the more personal interpretations of the night. Bvlgari extended that idea through the jewellery: Lisa wore a High Jewellery Sapphire necklace from the Eclettica collection with High Jewellery earrings set with two pear sapphires, while her 3D-printed arms were adorned with a High Jewellery Serpenti necklace, bracelet, ring and watch. Lisa was also part of the Met Gala host committee this year, following her 2025 appearance in Louis Vuitton, where embroidered portraits by Henry Taylor appeared within the blazer’s bodice. Rosé returned to the Met Gala with Saint Laurent, this time with Anthony Vaccarello as a co-chair of the hosting committee. Styled by Law Roach, she wore a strapless black gown inspired by Saint Laurent’s spring 1998 and spring 2002 couture collections. The look centred on a bird motif linked to Georges Braque’s The Birds, the painting installed on the ceiling of the Louvre. A bird pin sat on the gown, while Tiffany & Co. diamonds added a colder metallic contrast against the black Saint Laurent silhouette. Together, the Blackpink Met Gala 2026 outfits showed how each member’s fashion identity has developed through different houses and references. Jisoo brought Dior’s floral romanticism into focus. Jennie stayed with Chanel's craftsmanship and a cooler palette. Lisa used Robert Wun’s sculpted language to bring Thai heritage into the conversation. Rosé, with Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co., traced a line between couture archives and museum ceilings. For a group whose public image is often merged by fandom, virality and airport snapshots, the 2026 Met Gala offered something more useful: four distinct approaches to art and fashion, all on the same staircase.
