Fijian roots inspire Mrs Canada Globe Curve winner

Mrs Canada Globe Curve 2026 winner Pooja Chand says her Fijian upbringing, family values, and life experiences have shaped her commitment to empowering women, promoting mental health awareness, and supporting families. Ms Chand, born in Navua, highlighted her Fijian roots as an important part of her identity, influencing her journey. Raised by her father, Iswar Chand—a police officer for 35 years—and mother, Pushpa Wati—a homemaker until her passing in 2017, she attended Sigatoka Methodist Primary School and Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College. Growing up in a family that moved often instilled values of community, respect, compassion, resilience, and love in her. Winning the Mrs Canada Globe Curve 2026 title was more than a crown; it was an opportunity to use her voice and platform to inspire women regardless of age, background, size, or circumstances. She aims to create supportive spaces for women to share experiences, build confidence, and access resources, while encouraging mentorship. Her background in Mental Health and Substance Use Services strengthens her belief in compassion and support. Chand also acknowledged her husband as a major source of encouragement, saying he helped her ‘fly higher.’ With about half a million TikTok followers, she plans to promote body positivity, women’s empowerment, mental health, inclusion, and community involvement while showcasing Fijian culture. The title represents an opportunity to use her international platform to promote women’s welfare, celebrate diversity, and encourage self-belief. She wants to build a bridge between Fiji, Canada, and the wider international community.
